We are seeking a highly experienced, agile, hands-on, and results-driven project management professional to lead and oversee our special projects.
Job Summary
We are seeking an agile Project Management Consultant (PMC) to lead our special projects. The PMC will be responsible for all the project stages, directing professionals and other project execution teams, managing project budgets, and ensuring strict compliance with project quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate shall demonstrate an in-depth project management knowledge including solution to complex project challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project plans, defining scope, goals, deliverables, and resource requirements.
- Oversee approval of development and building plans by the County and National Government institutions.
- Oversee the preparation and approval of the project’s Environmental and Social Impact Assessment report by NEMA.
- Prepare and compile accurate cost estimates, manage the project budget, process payment vouchers/certificates, and manage reasonable scope and technical changes.
- Develop realistic timelines and milestones, scheduling intermediate phases to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Recruit and supervise project personnel including contractors.
- Supervision of all aspects of the project to ensure workmanship aligns with contractual specifications and quality standards.
- Project liaison between all project actors including external stakeholders, County and National Government institutions.
- Enforce strict adherence to building codes, environmental regulations, and health and safety standards.
- Identify potential project delays or budget overruns and implement actionable solutions to mitigate risks.
- Preparation and Handover of As-Built Drawings.
- Oveseeing Training on BMS including installation of Maintenance Regime.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related field. Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 7 years’ progressive experience in the construction management of building and civil works projects or similar role and at least a minimum of 2 completed building works projects in the past 5 years.
- Certifications for PRINCE2 (Projects IN Controlled Environments), PMP (Project Management Professional) or CMAA (Construction Manager Association of America).
- Strong working knowledge of project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, or MS Project).
- Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and communication skills. Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
